Summer concerts at Barntrup Castle
In every performance, the work must be reborn.
Such a birth in the Knights' Hall of Barntrup Castle attending leaves a lasting impression. The hall's unique acoustics can be experienced every summer during three classical music concerts. With almost no artificial lighting, the windows overlooking the summer greenery of the park provide a stage for the performers. The performances have been taking place since 2022.
The concerts are organised in cooperation with Barntrup Castle Foundation with the Detmold University of Music Organised for this purpose, soloists and ensembles currently in training apply and demonstrate their incredible talents time and time again.

Our small concert series will continue in 2026. Please make a note of the next three dates, all on Saturdays at 5 p.m.:

The programme has not yet been finalised. First, the concerts will be advertised at the University of Music in Detmold, and as always, we are excited to see what suggestions the students come up with.

Information on participation
The concerts last approximately one hour, plus welcome and moderation. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. There will be no intermission. Afterwards, wine and cheese will be served in the castle park, weather permitting.
The event is financed by donations. Donations can be made by bank transfer to the account DE23 4765 0130 1010 1403 64 of the non-profit foundation Schloss Barntrup or in person in a donation box.
The number of places is limited, so we will send you confirmation of your reservation request. Participation without prior registration and confirmation is not possible.
Directions via the courtyard entrance on Hagenstraße, 32683 Barntrup. Parking spaces are available in the courtyard; please do not drive on the lawns.
Unfortunately, the concert hall can only be accessed via a spiral staircase and therefore not accessible to achieve.
